Abake is a graphic design studio based in London, consisting of four people: Patrick Lacey, Benjamin Reichen, Kajsa Stahl and Maki Suzuki from Wales, France and Sweden. Their main interest in graphic design is the collaborative aspect it allows. Abake works with and for a wide range of clients including singers, bands, artists, universities, architects, museums, furniture designers, fashion designers, film production companies, art trusts and magazines. They co-edit and design the magazine Sexymachinery, an architectural production, and co-direct a clothing and record label called Kitsune. Clients include The Cardigans, Maison Martin Margiela, Peter Jensen, Bookworks, and the British Council.

He is a critic and a theorist in the fields of design and visual communication. While teaching at the Art Academy of Bologna, he also curated exhibitions and events (such as “Graphic Design Day”, 2006) and written several books (last one “Videologo”, 2005). Editorial director of Artlab, he collaborates with D, OHT, Disegnarte and Experimenta. Member of ADI, honorary member of F2F, he is National Director of IIDD-Design for All Italia, and coordinator of the Visual Design commission in the Permanent Observatory of Design ADI.

He has been working in the field of interactive media design for about fifteen years. Founder Hypermedia Research Centre at the University of Westminster, in the 1995 Antirom group that specialized in interactive music interfaces and in the 1999 Romandson Interactive Design studio in London. In 2001 he was nominated creative director of Fabrica's interaction design department, where he is responsible for research programmes about interactive media and Benetton's interactive and on line communication politics.

Lorenzo Fonda has worked in the visual communication field since 1994. He started with illustration, then discovered graphic design, then animation, then video, and interactive installations. He worked with commercial clients such as Nike and Mtv and Bastard Snowboards. He has been skateboarding since he was 10 years old. He would like to learn how to properly play an instrument and travel more.
He joined Fabrica's video department in October 2004. He's currently working on many projects ranging from music videos to commercials to installations and many more.

He began working in Treviso for different graphic studios (Barazzuol, Giacometti) mainly working in the field of product design and visual communication for clients such as Benetton, Stefanel and Michele De Lucchi. Subsequently, he was nominated communication art director for the fashion label Gas, for which he realizes his first editorial project, two first numbers of the magazine "The Magasine". Afterwards, he moved to Milan and started working in the field of editorial graphics, first working on the graphic restyling of the musical magazine BlowUp. Soon after, he was invited to work for the magazine Maxim, first as graphic director and then as art director. Further, he took care of the graphic and editorial restyling of Zero guides and of the coordinate image of the same publishing house. Currently, he develops graphic project for magazines, and cooperates with Mondadori for covers and collections design.

Massimiliano Ciammaichella

Massimiliano Ciammaichella was born in Rome in 1973.
After graduating in architecture at Iuav in Venice, he achieved doctorate's degree in "Ricerca e Rilievo dell'Architettura e dell'Ambiente" coordinated by Riccardo Migliari, at "La Sapienza" University in Rome. At the Faculty of Arts and Design, he currently works as a collaborator for Art and Multimedia and Informatics for Theatre laboratories, held by Camillo Trevisan, and he also teaches Sistemi di elaborazione dell'Immagine e Applicazioni informatiche per la Moda.
He received an "Assegno di ricerca" for the project "La Fenice Digitale", coordinated by Camillo Trevisan.
He partecipate to the Ricerca COFIN 2005: V.I.A. Virtual Interactive Architecture. Scientific coordinator of the research plan: Riccardo Migliari.

Journalist and dj, he writes for "XL" monthly supplement of La Repubblica newspaper, "Rolling Stone Italia", "Io Donna" supplement of Corriere della Sera newspaper and "Hot". He hosted several shows on national Rai Radio 2 ("Suoni & Ultrasuoni" and "Weekendance" amongst others). He wrote a couple of books, the latest being "Discoinferno" (ISBN, 2006), a social history of dance-music and nightclubbing in Italy from the 40es till today, and "Mamma mamma, voglio fare il dj" (Arcana, 2004), an ironic essay on how to become a successful dj in Italy.

Award winning sound artist and creator of the Modified Toy Orchestra, has been at the forefront of a world wide underground movement called circuit bending which involves rescuing childrens electronic toys from car boot sales, modifing their circuits and converting them into new strange and sophisticated musical instruments.
He is now joined by Laurence Hunt (Pram),Darren Joyce (Dreams of Tall Buildings), Mike Johnston (Plone, Mike in Mono), Michael Valentine West (Twiggy and the K-Mesons), and Chris Plant (Colour Burst).

The group is made of Carlo Zoratti and Marco Mucig, two interactive designers that have met in 2005 at Fabrica, Benetton Group's communication research center, founded by Oliviero Toscani. In January of 2006 the first live performances followed by important partecipations in FarEastFilmFestival (April 2006) and in Flux-Mtv (August 2006) (at Interferenze).
They have just finished the last videoclip for ScuolaFurano and they work steadily with the independent recording label RiotMaker.

(1974, Palermo).In 2002 he graduated in Digital Design at the European Design Institute in Rome, where he has taught between 2002 and 2004. His project "I Viaggi di Enea" realized by the Institue for musicians of the New York University, is an important step in the relationship between music and visual performances. In 2002 he has been invited to "Opera Totale 7" as one of the five best Italian rising web designers.
In 2004 he moved to Treviso where, as creative director of Oot Agency, could work for Autogrill, Pirelli, Telecom, Grandistazioni, Banca Antonveneta.
The European Design Institute gave him the award for the best career 2006 in Visual Arts. He works with Ryuichi Sakamoto for the no profit project Mono No Aware. This project won several Italian awards among which Adci. La Spada is the only Italian who has won the famous Webby Awards. In 2007 he took part in Powerstock Festival, with the visual performance for Fennesz, Moby, Mr. Oizo, Planet Funk and Klaxons.

Artist and motion designer. Creative director of events and exhibitions among which Art First (Bologna, 2004), Fabrica Exhibition (Los Angeles, 2004), Speak Truth To The Power (Mantova, Firenze, Roma, 2004), La scimmia nuda (Trento, 2007). He cooperates with art foundations and international artists as Kennedy Foundation, La Fura dels Baus, Lucio Dalla, Heiner Goebbels, La Biennale Musica di Venezia, ResFest.
His work has been presented in many places of the world. Among which "Q", interactive installation made of water, sounds and visuals (Plug-In and Lichfield gallery, Basilea, 2005 and 2006), "Dialogs", multimedial installation (experimenta design biennial, Lisbona, 2005; Centre Pompidou, Parigi, 2006) and "Fragile", video interactive installation for cellular phone created for the show Winners (Brisbane, 2006).
He also wored for Diesel, Getty Images and Oviesse and as advisor for Fabrica, the research center about the communication of Benetton group. Today he is part of Heads Collective, creatives international joint.

Udine 1952, he is a visual designer and a musician. He lives and works in Tricesimo (Udine) and Milano, where in 1971 he attended the IED, European Design Institute. His Polystudio works with publishers, museums, theaters, newspapers and several cultural bodies. He has been the art director of Venice Biennale between 1977 and 1982 together with Ferruccio Montanari (in 1979 with Milton Glaser). Since the mid 80's he has worked as graphic designer for the biggest record labels (Emi, Polygram, Sony, Universal, Warner), and as producer realizing many albums with Alice, Finardi, Devogue, and many more. Since 1975 he has worked with Franco Battiato realizing musical and editorial projects, founding L’Ottava which produced records (Emi distribution) and books (Longanesi). Between 1996 and 2001 he had worked for the corporate identity of Arflex spa. Since 1999 he has been the head of the project of the RCS Bompiani identity (selcted by Compasso d’Oro 2001) started with the lucky Tolkien collection. Together with his colleagues promoted and realized some exhibitions dedicated to Italian graphic and in 1999, with Enzo Gentile he produced Musica senza suono (Music without sound) an exhibition (Museo Revoltella, Trieste) and a book that collect sketches and drawings of Italian musicians.
Since 2004 he has been a teacher of Communication Design at the Arts and Design Faculty of Iuav University of Venice.

Mike Mills (born 1966 in Berkeley, CA.) is a film director/music video director and graphic designer. He graduated from Cooper Union in Lower Manhattan, New York City.
He has created videos for such musical acts as Moby, Yoko Ono and Air. He has also worked as a graphic designer on promotional material and album covers for such acts as Beastie Boys, Beck, Sonic Youth, and Ol' Dirty Bastard. In addition he has created graphics for X-Girl, Marc Jacobs, and currently produces his own line of posters and fabrics called Humans by Mike Mills.
Air named the fifth song on their album Talkie Walkie after Mills.
Mills played guitar and performed background vocals with the short-lived indie side-project band Butter 08 along with Yuka Honda and Miho Hatori of Cibo Matto, Russell Simins of the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, and Rick Lee of Skeleton Key. The band released one self-titled album in 1996 on the now defunct Grand Royal record label.
Thumbsucker is his feature-film directorial debut.

Stefano Senardi was the head of international repertoire for Italian WEA. Between 1989 and 1992 he was the marketing manager and then General Manager of CGD/Time Warner. He also was the headmaster of PolyGram Italia between 1992 and 1999.
In 2000 with Edel International he founded the NuN Entertainment label of which he's still the managing director.
In 2004 he directed the Rome Live8, on the occasion of the big solidal event organized by Bob Geldof.
Since 2005 he has developed recording and editorial activities for Radio Fandango and he is Honorary Chairman of AudioCoop. In 2006 he took part in the Scientific Panel of Giorgio Gaber Foundation.
